Every time we build a demo, we also "name your characters." SmartPass might have done it better than we ever could.
Their tour hits you with a "quick interruption."
Harper's mom just called, and she's picking Harper up in five minutes for a dentist appointment.
So Jessica in the front office jumps into SmartPass to find her. Harper is supposed to be in Mr. Campbell's room for ping pong (enrichment time, apparently). But she's out on a bathroom pass. Oh no. The second that pass ends, Jessica sends Harper a pass for early dismissal.
Every front office has lived that exact five minutes, and they'll recognize it right away. That's a lot more convincing than "early dismissal" sitting on a feature list.
Every modal has the same problem. There's one line you NEED the buyer to read, plus a few more you'd hate to cut. So it all goes in, and the buyer skims right past it.
WorkJam keeps both but gives them different jobs. Sure, there's a LOT of text in these modals.
It just doesn't feel like it.
The main text tells the story of Alex's day: she only sees the tasks, surveys and training assigned to her role in the store, and none of it gets blasted to the whole chain. Underneath, in smaller contrasting text, comes the why.
Jason described it as the person sitting next to you during a movie who knows what was going on when that scene was shot. The story keeps moving up top, and the little tidbits ride along underneath.
We love this one because that bottom line is usually the text you'd cut. WorkJam found a way to keep it without turning the modal into a novel.
Last week GoRout put the coach and the team on screen at the same time. Showpad goes the other way: one person at a time, with a handoff in the middle.
Their tour opens on "A day in the life of a field seller." Maya introduces herself, and you follow her through her day. She finishes a training course, rehearses her meeting with an AI version of her buyer, pulls a case study right before she walks in, and records her notes on the walk back to the car.
When her day ends, a "Part 2" button hands you off to Paul, the admin back at HQ.
Which means itβs the same product, different day. This includes dashboards, courses, and building the AI agents Maya was using an hour ago.
While each of them walks you through it, a little video of them plays in the corner. So you get a face to go with the name.
Forget chocolate. This advent calendar has something way better inside: a free 30-minute workshop every weekday!
Each weekday, from Nov 2β25, the Navattic team (plus a few surprise guests) will show you how to run your demo program from Claude or ChatGPT using the Navattic MCP.
Youβll script and build demos, bulk-edit copy, refresh stale steps after a launch, and ask your analytics questions in plain English, all without leaving your LLM.
That adds up to 17 expert-led sessions with live Q&A and a gift every day, all free. Miss one? Just catch it next week.
