We are Navattic fanatics.

We had the idea for this newsletter after hundreds of hours spent building Navattic demos for our past companies and current clients. We love making remarkable interactive demos, and want to share helpful tips and examples so you can too.

A huge thanks to Navattic for helping make this a reality. If you want to create a better experience for your buyers, go check them out.

Tip #1 - Build A Demo Bar That Follows You Around

Let's be honest…most people don't even know if you have a demo or not. Might as well put it right in their view.

GlobalVetLink created a sticky bar that pops up and follows you around saying "Try Interactive Demo." It's a little nudge that brings your demo front-and-center so your prospects don’t have to play hide-and-seek.

We’ll start suggesting this to clients because it:

  • Let’s people know you have a demo in the first place
  • Keeps the demo option visible no matter where people scroll
  • Catches people who might get interested later in their browsing session

Too many companies hide their demos and make them an afterthought. Don’t be like those companies, pretty please.

→ Try to escape GlobalVetLink's persistent demo bar

Tip #2 - Let Them Pick Their Path Before They Start

Why show everyone the same generic demo when you can show them exactly what they care about?

GovDash created an interest demo where you choose your use cases before clicking around the product.

The best part? All this information gets passed to sales for better lead qualification and prospecting later.

Jason and I like these interest demos because:

  • Prospects feel like they're getting a personalized experience
  • You don’t waste an opportunity showing irrelevant features

We’re seeing more and more of these interest demos in the wild. Have you tried one yet?

Tip #3 - Every Story Needs Characters

We've talked about persona-based demos before, but Kallidus lets you pick whose day you want to follow.

The first thing they did was turn their demos into real stories about real people. Most of us get caught up in feature or use-case land, that people want to hear stories about other people.

Kallidus has the Learner, the Manager, and the L&D leader…each given their own name and specific use case demo.

This may become a standard approach for us because:

  • Right-fit prospects immediately identify with one of the three personas
  • Each path feels like a complete story, not just feature highlights
  • The choice makes you more invested in the outcome

Last week on Edition #36, we showed you WorkJam's "Day in the Life of Alex.” Kallidus goes 2-steps further and gives us a day in the life with “Heather, Keith, and Alyson.”
